Two Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres identified as Munnalal Varkade (42) and Indal were arrested by Police after an exchange of fire in a forest under Lanji Police Station limits of Balaghat District in Madhya Pradesh, reports Business Standard on July 10. During the encounter, other CPI-Maoist cadres managed to flee after the Police retaliation. Munnalal Varkade is a carrying a reward of INR 300,000 announced by Chhattisgarh Police and INR 100,000 announced by Madhya Pradesh Police on his head.
