Security Forces (SFs) killed Two Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres during an exchange of fire at a forest in Morchul village under Sawargaon Police outpost limits in DhanoraTehsil (revenue unit) of Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on May 13, reports India Today. The Police had information that more than 50 Naxals [Left Wing Extremism (LWE)] had gathered in the forest near Morchul village. SFs comprising of C-60 commandos, a special combat unit of the Gadchiroli Police, and other security personnel reached the area and CPI-Maoist cadres initiated the exchange of fire. Police recovered two dead bodies of CPI-Maoist cadres identified as Raja aliasRamsaiRoharuMadavi (33), carrying a reward of INR 12,00,000 on his head and Ranita aliasPunitaChipaluram Gawde (28), carrying a reward of INR 2,00,000 on her head. Madavi, who hailed from Morchul village was a ‘commander' of the CPI-Maoist Tipagad Area Committee Platoon Number 15 and 44 cases were registered against him including murder. Gawde, resident of Botejhari village, was a member of Kasansoor Local Organisation Squad and nine offences were registered against her. Police recovered one Self Loading Rifle (SLR), 8 mm rifle, `cooker bomb, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and other material from the encounter site, said Gadchiroli Superintendent of Police (SP), Ankit Goyal
