Police on April 23 claimed to have killed two militants, including a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant, in an encounter between militants and Security Forces (SFs) in Mirhama area in Kulgam District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Greater Kashmir. The number of militants still trapped in the area was not immediately known. “Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation”, Police said, adds Daily Excelsior.
A suspected blast was reported by villagers in open agricultural land in Lalian village in Bishnah in Jammu District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on April 24 morning, reports Zee News. Police arrested one militant, involved in the killing of two Railway Police men, in Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on April 23, reports Daily Excelsior. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar, said that two local militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were involved in the killing of two Railway Protection jawans last week. “One militant has been arrested and the other will be arrested or neutralised soon,” IGP, Kumar added.
