A soldier and a woman were injured after militants fired at an Army ambulance at Ladhoo area in Pampore in Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in India on July 9, reports Daily Excelsior. Srinagar based Defence spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said, “An ambulance with QRT (Quick Reaction Team) moving from Khrew was fired upon by terrorists from near a Mosque at Laddoo Mor, Lethpora, Awantipora at 6 pm. One soldier injured, evacuated to 92 BH (base hospital), stable. One civil lady sustained injuries in the crossfire, stable. Area being searched.”
Meanwhile, Security Forces (SFs) arrested a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant in Bandipora District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in India on July 9, reports Daily Excelsior. Police said that based on a specific input regarding movement of militant towards Hajin town for subversive activities, a joint Naka (barricade) was established in Hakbara area of Hajin town by Bandipora Police, 13 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and 45 Bn Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). One militant Rafiq Ahmad Rather alias Haji of Chandergeir was arrested while trying to hurl grenade on the Naka party. “Incriminating material along with live grenades and ammunition (2 live grenades and 19 live rounds of AK 47) were recovered from his possession. Police said that he had joined LeT recently and was tasked to carry out attacks in and around Hajin locality by way of grenade hurling on Police and SFs.
