Two persons, including one surrendered militant, shot dead by United Baloch Army (UBA) militants in Shehrak area of Turbat town in Kech District of Balochistan in the night of July 28, reports The Balochistan Post. According to reports, militants attacked a man named Shakir alias Shaheen son of Ghulam Sarwar in front of his house. Shakir was along with his accomplice Zahid, son of Dehkan Kahoor, at the time of the attack. Both the men died on the spot. Shakir was a former Baloch cadre who had surrendered to the Army on an unspecified date. UBA claimed the responsibility of the attack on July 29. Mureed Baloch, a ‘spokesman’ for the UBA, said in press release that UBA fighters targeted and killed the surrendered Shakir. According to Mureed Baloch, Shakir had been associated with Baloch armed groups for a long time. After that, Shakir was active in Army’s reared death squad and was seen with the Pakistani army in several operations to pursue the freedom fighters and looting, bullying, drug trafficking and social crimes. “He was directly involved in the evils and had set up a drug den in his area to destroy the Baloch youth,” Mureed Baloch added.
