Two persons were killed while 7 civilians and 15 others including Police, fire service personnel and government officials were injured during a protest against the resettlement of Bru-Reang refugees in the Kanchanpur sub-division of North Tripura District in Tripura on November 21, reports Northeast Now. Personnel of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) opened fire at a group of protesters resulting in casualties. The deceased have been identified as Srikanth Das (47), a member of the Joint Movement Committee (JMC), which has been spearheading the movement against the resettlement of these refugees in the sub-division and Biswajit Debbarma (40), who was a fire service employee.
