On March 18, the United States (U.S.) Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad, met with Abdullah Abdullah, to discuss the ongoing political crisis and the peace process, reports Tolo News. Abdullah’s deputy spokesman Fraidoon Khwazoon said that a solution has not been found to the tensions between President Ashraf Ghani and his prime challenger Abdullah. “For us, the base is a government which can reflect the will of the Afghan people and their clean biometric votes,” said Khwazoon.
