A female Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadre, identified as Veko Hidamen, who was active for 15 years in the border areas of Dantewada-Sukma, on whose head the Police had announced a reward of INR 500,000, surrendered in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh on July 29, reports etvbharat.com. Hidamen, who was active as 'president' of 'Janatana Sarkar' (the Peoples Government of the Maoists) and ‘area committee member (ACM)’ rank, has been involved in Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] incidents in the Katekalyan-Tongpal area in the district.
