Ministry of Defence (MoD) Afghanistan Spokesman General Mohammad Radmanish said that 45 militants including a shadow deputy governor of the Taliban group were killed, 37 others injured and 25 others arrested during the operations of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) across Afghanistan in the past 24 hours, reports Khaama Press on April 10. 13 militants were killed in Shahwali Kot District of Kandahar while the Taliban’s ‘shadow deputy governor’ for Uruzgan was killed along with six others in Khas Uruzgan Distict. Six militants were also killed in Nad-e-Ali District of Helamand while three mine planters were killed in an explosion in Greshk District. Six more militants were killed in Zurmat District of Paktia, four were killed in Bala Bolok District of Farah, four others were killed in Kohistan District of Faryab, and three others were killed in Shajoi District of Zabul Province. Afghan Forces disocvered and defused 9 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). 15 offensive operations are currently underway in 10 Provinces while Commando Forces conducted 69 operations and 5 air-strikes have also been carried out during the same period. The operations with support of Air and Artillery Forces were conducted in Logar, Khost, Kandahar, Urozgan, Zabul, Farah, Badghis, Faryab and Helmand Provinces, adds Bakhtar News.

Spokesman General Radmanish said at least eight militants including a local ‘commander’ of the Taliban were killed in Chesht-e-Sharif District of Herat Province, five others were killed in Bala Bolok District of Farah Province, and six more were killed in Nejrab District of Kapisa Province. He also added that six militants were killed in Khogyani District of Nangarhar Province and one militant each in Helmand and in Andar District of Ghazni Province. Afghan Forces also confiscated 99 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) during the operations. Afghan Forces are currently involved in 21 operations in 13 Provinces of Afghanistan, , adding that the Special Forces have conducted 68 raids while the Afghan Air Force (AAF) has carried out 13 air-strikes as well.
