On August 3, marking eight years of the Framework Agreement being signed between the National Socialist Council of Nagaland - Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) and the Government of India (GoI), the Yaruiwo (President) of the NSCN-IM, Q Tuccu stated that “there is no question of moving away in any manner or dilute the sovereign meaning of the historic agreement”, reports The Morung Express. He said, “There is no greater achievement we can be proud of when the truth of Naga sovereign identity was acknowledged by the Government of India by signing the historic Framework Agreement on this day the 3rd August, 2015.” He further stated that the world has come to know much better of the Naga political issue because of the Framework Agreement (FA), adding that it was after more than 50 years of fierce fighting that the Government of India “accepted the historical truth that Nagalim was never an integral part of India either by conquest or consent.”

Describing Baruah as an "intellectual and educated person," Sarma expressed his hope that the ULFA-I leader would accept his invitation to engage in peaceful discussions. Sources stated that Meitei farmers who went to Phubala Maning Loukol (paddy fields) to tend to paddy plants were fired upon by Kuki militants. On hearing the gun shots from Kuki militants, State forces and Village volunteers retaliated and drove back the Kuki militants. It is suspected that at least five Kuki militants suffered were killed in the retaliatory fire. There was no casualty on the side of the State forces and Village volunteers.

On August 29, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a supplementary chargesheet against two operatives of Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) identified as Akbar Ali and Abul Kalam Azad operating from Assam, reports The Indian Express. The case was initially registered by Assam Police on March 4, 2022, and was taken over by the NIA on March 22 2022. An NIA statement said, “The supplementary charge sheet has been filed against Akbar Ali and Abul Kalam Azad who were arrested on April 5. They were part of the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) based in Assam’s Barpeta which was led by Bangladeshi national Saiful Islam who operated under the cover of an Arabic teacher at ‘Shaikhul Hind Mahmadul Hasan Jamiul Huda Islamic Academy’ and Imam at the Dhakaliapara Masjid, officials said. The agency is on the trail of Bangladeshi handlers of the module.
