Buragohain also read out a statement asking other ULFA leaders and cadres to lay down arms. He said, "The path we led is wrong. Armed rebellion can not bring independence." Three more senior ULFA cadres, ‘assistant central publicity secretary’ Bolin Das, ‘medical officer’ Amarjit Gogoi and ‘deputy political advisor’ Sgt. Major Robin Handique also surrendered along with Buragohain.
