On July 6, a statement from Manipur Police stated that a huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered in an operation carried out involving a joint team comprising of Imphal East District Police, Assam Rifles and Border Security Force (BSF), reports Northeast Now. During the operation, the forces recovered five firearms, an equal number of high explosive (HE) hand grenades and 71 rounds of ammunition from the Leitanpokpi foothills in the Imphal East District. The statement indicated that these weapons were reportedly abandoned by the Kuki militants. Additionally, a misfired 51 mm mortar shell was recovered in a paddy field in Phayeng in Imphal West District.

The chargesheet was filed against the three cadres of the proscribed terrorist organisations, namely People’s Revolutionary Army, Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) and United National Liberation Front (UNLF) among others. The accused has been identified as Deepak Sharma (38) alias Khinmaung of Myanmar, Suraj Jasiwal (33) and Shaikhom Bruce Meetei (38) of Manipur. Investigations revealed that the accused had been collecting funds through extortion calls to the people in Imphal and the valley areas with the intention to further the activities of these terrorist organizations.

On July 26, the United People's Front (UPF) and Kuki National Organisation (KNO) [11 militant groups], the two conglomerate organizations of the Kuki militants held the first formal meet with the Government of India (GoI), which marked the resumption of the formal political dialogue, reports Imphal Free Press. Both the outfits put up the demand for a separate administration with legislative powers during talks with the Union Government. The political dialogue was chaired by AK Mishra, special advisor Union Ministry of Home Affairs (UMHA) which was participated by delegates of UPF and KNO led by Aaron Kipgen and Dr Seilen Haokip respectively. The UPF and KNO, which are representatives of the Kuki-Zo people urged the Centre to withdraw the clause for safeguarding the integrity of Manipur in the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement which the Centre accepted and began talks for separate administration. While discussing the issue of separate administration, Aaron Kipgen stated that the UPF and KNO put up their demand for "Union Territory with legislative powers" under the Constitution of India where forest and land rights will be their inherent rights.

Family members of the injured person said two cadres of NSCN-IM came to their residence and asked them to provide an empty room for staying the night and forcefully entered their house late at night.
