Sampath to delete the names of Bru voters who were in six Tripura relief camps if they do not return to Mizoram during this month (February). A leader of the Central Committee of the Young Mizo Association (YMA) said that the Joint Memorandum was submitted to Sampath on February 5 through the state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Ashawni Kumar. The memorandum stated, that the Brus left Mizoram and migrated to Tripura on their own will and refused to return on some pretext. The three militants were identified as Jospeh Reang, Basajay Aslong and Angiakrai Reang. BSF sources added that the militants had deserted their hideout because of food shortage. Sarkar said the insurgency was on the wane as none was killed by the militants in 2013 and 10 persons were abducted during the time, but all of them had returned. In the last three years 92 insurgents of different underground groups have surrendered, he said.
