"A police team raided the village and encircled Pahan, who was with six armed men, before he could reach his target. He opened fire on policemen when they asked him to surrender. In retaliatory fire Pahan was killed while his men escaped," Police claimed. Police arrested one of the extremists who laid down arms during the gun-battle.
