The burnt machinery included three dumpers, one loader, one water tank, one roller and a grader in 7 vehicles. The spokesperson said that all the machinery including the vehicles in the camp have been set on fire which were completely burnt to ashes.

According to the monthly report of the human rights organisation Paank, in January, 2023, Security Forces (SFs) forcibly disappeared 41 people from Balochistan, including 18 students and a journalist, The Balochistan Post reported on February 10. While 14 forced missing persons were released from the torture cells of the Army after severe physical and mental torture. According to Paank, in December 2022 and January 2023, the cases of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances significantly increased in Balochistan. The report issued by Paank states that this trend clearly violates the UN Conventions against extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances. The right to life and freedom from torture is enshrined in numerous international treaties, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and The United Nations Convention against Torture (CAT) and in other conventions against cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment or punishment.

Two Army personnel were killed in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion in Kohlu area (Kohlu District) of Balochistan on February 10, reports Dawn. “Based on credible intelligence, a sanitisation operation was initiated on February 10 in the Kohlu area of Balochistan to deny terrorists any liberty of action,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. During the ensuing sanitisation of the area, the ISPR said, an IED exploded close to the leading party. “Resultantly, two officers — identified as Major Jawad and Captain Sagheer — embraced martyrdom and laid their lives in defence of the motherland against an externally perpetrated threat.”

A suspected militant, linked with a banned militant outfit, was killed in an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) conducted by the Security Forces (SFs) in Awaran District of Balochistan on February 24, reports samaaenglish.tv. According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the SFs had received information about the presence of a group that was planting Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in the area targeting SFs, following which an operation was launched. During the operation, in the ensuing exchange of fire with the troops, a militant was killed. Later, the troops recovered a heavy cache of arms – including light and heavy automatic weapons, ammunition, detonators, and explosives from the possession of the militant. A flag of a banned outfit was also recovered.
