One Traffic Police constable was killed and two others, including a Policeman, were injured when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on them in Dabarra area of Tank District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on June 16, reports Dawn. A Police official said that the Police personnel were on duty in the Dabarra area when unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on them. Three persons were killed and four injured in two different incidents in North and South Waziristan tribal Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on June 23, reports The Express Tribune. Police said, a mortar shell exploded inside a scrap shop in main Wana Bazaar in South Waziristan, as a result the shop owner was killed on the spot and five children sustained injuries. They were rushed to the nearby hospital where one child succumbed to his injuries. “This man had bought a scrap mortar shell and was busy trying to break it when it suddenly exploded, killing him on the spot and injuring five of his child servants,” said a police official, adding that one child died at the hospital while condition of others is stated to be critical. The headless body of an army man, identified as Aianullah, posted at Punjab First Light in Kashmir and he was currently on leave, was found on the bank of River Tochi in North Waziristan, reports The Express Tribune on June 24. “Last night someone called him on his mobile and then he left. In the morning the family started looking for him when he didn’t attend his phone and found his body dumped on the bank of Tochi River. The head had been severed from the body,” said a police official, adding, “We are investigating the matter from all angles. Unidentified assailants shot dead two Policemen assigned to polio vaccination teams and a polio worker in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on June 28, reports Dawn. The victims were busy with polio vaccinations when they came under attack, an official said, adding that a child was also injured during the incident after he was shot in the leg. An official of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) was killed while another one injured when terrorists attacked a checkpoint in Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the night of June 30, reports Dawn. One of the attackers, later identified as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militant Bilal, was killed and another was injured in the encounter. Azam Warsak Police Station House Officer (SHO) Zabihullah said that a search party of Police had set up a checkpoint.
