A NSCN-IM cadre was shot dead by suspected ZUF cadres at around 2pm along Thongjaorok River bank at Lusai Chiru Village, some eight kilometres away from Bishnupur Police Station. The Police also recovered two empty cases of a 9mm pistol. From the identity card found from the youth, the deceased was identified as one Paosingdai Gonmei (29). Additionally, a press communiqué issued by information Secretary of the ZUF, A Dangmei said that Pousingdai Gonmei, Kapur (area administrator) of Zeilad Region of Duithanjang Khoupum in Tameglong District was 'awarded capital punishment' at Ngariyan village, Churachanpur District. It said that the deceased was arrested in 2011 for leading the NSCN-IM cadres in the first gun battle at Khoupum in 2010. After stern warning, he was released as he was a Zeliangrong. The ZUF went on to say that he was also among the cadres involved in the ambush at Soubunglong (Leishok) village in 2011. It also alleged that the deceased was found collecting 'tax' in the Zeliangrong region.

Ukhrul

At least one cadre of an militant group was killed while two others sustained injuries in a gunfight between two rival outfits at Kangkum village along Indo-Myanmar border under Kasom Khullen subdivision in Ukhrul District. A source said the shoot-out took place between cadres of NSCN-IM and a suspected militant group active in the area. The source confirmed the death of one cadre of the NSCN-IM cadre and injury of two others.

Tamenglong/ Manipur

Three militants were reportedly killed and one injured in a five hours fierce gun-battle between the NSCN-IM and the ZUF cadres near Bhalok village in Tamenglong District. Bombs were also reportedly used in the encounter. Police source said that the three deceased belonged to the ZUF and added that one cadre of the NSCN-IM was injured. Meanwhile, the NSCN-IM has also claimed that the three deceased hailed from the ZUF.

The incident took place when NSCN-K and ZUF who were camping together at Haochong were attacked suddenly by rival NSCN-IM cadres.

He was reportedly killed by NSCN-K, avenging for the Haochong village killing.

A fierce gun battle between ZUF and NSCN-IM cadres that erupted since September 25 evening has left six dead and injuring one civilian. However, identities of the deceased and the injured were not known. The incident sparked off inside a forest near Wairangba village in the interior Tamenglong District, Maipur. According to Manipur Police sources, NSCN-IM and ZUF with a combined force of other factions were involved in a fierce gunfight since September 25 evening till late night of September 26. Sources said casualties could go up.

Over 35 cadres of these groups were killed in the night of February 24-25, 2011, on the Tirap (Arunachal Pradesh)-Myanmar border. The IM faction lost 30 of its cadres when their 100-strong armed group, trying to enter Tirap from Myanmar's Sagiang Division, was ambushed by the rival Khaplang faction. The Khaplang faction lost about five of its cadres.
