Shortage of personnel in paramilitary forces

On July 29, 2009, the Minister of State in the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Ajay Maken, provided data on the shortage of personnel in the para-military forces in India in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha (Upper House of Parliament).

Recruitment in Central Para Military Forces is an ongoing process with the help of UPSC, SSC and Force recruitment boards. Recruitment Centres for constables exist in various States to ensure that no part of the country is neglected and regular recruitment takes place periodically so that maximum number of vacancies are filled up.

This information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ajay Maken, in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today.
