The special cell of Delhi Police
arrested three members of the Maoist Communist Centre including
a zonal commander of the outfit from a house in the Badarpur area
of south Delhi. The accused reportedly confessed that they were
trying to set up a base in the city. Police said that zonal commander
Yogendra Singh Bhokta, Satish Kumar and Sheetal Kumar were arrested
while other members of the outfit are on the run. Deputy Commissioner
of Police (Special Cell) Alok Kumar said, "We have received inputs
in February this year after which their movements were being tracked.
Further intelligence revealed that they were hiding in the Badarpur
area after which a raid was conducted and all three were arrested
from a house there."

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police arrested
Kobad Ghandy, a politburo member of the CPI-Maoist, from the Bhikaji
Cama area. Ghandy was reportedly looking after the central propaganda
committee of the outfit. Kobad was produced before a Magistrate
at the Tis Hazari court who sent him to 14-days of judicial custody.
