With the CPI-Maoist groups trying
to strengthen their cadre by reviving Son-Ganga Vindhyachal Zonal
Committee and by appointing Dilip Baitha of Gadhwa District in
Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh Police have decided to host an interstate
coordination meeting with the Police of neighbouring states to
finalise a strategy to foil this bid.

Uttar Pradesh Police in coordination
with the Police of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh
will create a common communication grid to share information and
inputs for tackling CPI-Maoist.

Balia District Administration
is apprehensive about Naxals trying to establish their
foothold in 53 village of the District. Earlier, community Policing
and combative efforts had appeared to be effective in checking
CPI-Maoist menace in Uttar Pradesh but a recent Ballia Administration
letter might force the State Police to redraw its plans.

Uttar Pradesh Police arrested
a CPI-Maoist cadre, identified as Jagjivan Kole alias Vijay
Yadav alias Roshan Ansari of Rohtas District in Bihar,
near Naraindih in the Chopan area of Sonbhadra District.

Uttar Pradesh Police's anti-terrorism squad (ATS)
arrested a Haryana-based arms dealer, Anil Kumar Jain who runs
an arms shop in Sirsa District (Haryana), in connection with a
racket supplying weapons to CPI-Maoist across the State. He was
arrested from Lucknow.
