India and Afghanistan government officials on September 19 discussed the security situation in Afghanistan, especially in Ghazni province and the rise of Islamic State (IS) in Afghanistan, reports The Tribune. Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani met with Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi over a delegation-level talk in New Delhi during his a day visit to India. President Ghani briefed PM Modi over initiatives taken by his government for the peace, reconciliation and against the challenges of terrorism imposed on Afghanistan and its people, read the statement released by the Indian government. PM Modi raised his concern of seven Indian nationals abducted in Baghlan province in May 2018. In response, President Ghani assured that the matter is look after by him and all possible measures were being made to early and secure release of abducted Indian nationals.
