To avoid criticism for harbouring illegal immigrants and Islamic fundamentalists, a 121-years old Islamic Seminary—the Darul Uloom Banskandi in Cachar District in Assam, on June 7 has adopted stringent admission norms, reports The Hindu. As per new admission rules, it is mandatory for a candidate to submit their legacy data along with the application form. The legacy data are a set of documents that prove that the family is a citizen of India and has been resident of Assam before or since 1971, said the Rector of the Seminary—Hamid Ahmed.
