A woman Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadre, identified as Mang Nureti alias Sindhu (25), was arrested from Ekawari village in Nabarangpur District of Odisha on April 21, reports ommcomnews.com. Sindhu was suspected to have been involved in the Police-Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] shootout near Karipani and Ekawari villages on the border of Chhattisgarh on April 12. The Police found she was working under the leadership of Maoist leader Deepak Mandvi of the Sita Nadi Area Committee since 2021.
A Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) camp was found in a forest area on the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border near the Kataphara village under the Boden Police Station limits in the Nuapada District of Odisha on April 22, during a joint combing operation by the Odisha Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, reports argusenglish.in. Though no Maoist was arrested, security personnel seized Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] articles and medicines from the camp.
