Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on March 27, said Taliban is the main obstacle on the way of bringing peace in the country because the group insists on establishment of an Islamic emirate and refuses to talk to the Afghan government, reports Tolo News. “Taliban has been the obstacle for taking the first step (for peace) because they have an excuse that we do not negotiate with government and that is why I say that Taliban is an obstacle on the way of reaching to peace,” Abdullah said. He said that forming an inclusive negotiating team can decrease Taliban’s excuses for not meeting the Afghan government and that this team will be formed in the near future. “As soon as a single voice represents Afghanistan’s people, including government and others, I think the opportunity for making excuses by the other side (Taliban) will decrease,” Abdullah added. The Russian Ambassador to Kabul Alexander Mantystskiy said that it is the Afghan people and influential politicians who should decide about the future system, not the Afghan Government, if an interim Government is expected to come on power, March 27, reports Tolo News. Mantystskiy said if the demands say that Taliban should join the Government, a solution should be sought for such integration and again it is the Afghan people and politicians who should find a solution. “Not government, but your people should decide what is the best solution for yourself. Do you want this interim government, for which purpose? If allow Taliban to enter to this political system, it seems that something should be done. But you should decide yourselves, Afghan people, Afghan political parties and prominent figures,” said Mantystskiy.
