The security forces (SFs) are reported to have recovered, on July 14, bodies of seven infiltrators killed during a gun-battle in the Gurez sector of Baramulla district. The gun-battle has been continuing since the last three days. An SF spokesperson said that with rain, intense cold and low visibility hampering the operations, the troops, who have surrounded the terrorists at heights over 14,000 feet, are using heavy fire-power to flush them out from rocky and snowy crags. The Army had launched operations on July 12 after noticing movement of a large group of terrorists, said to be the largest since the cease-fire along the borders in November 2003, trying to infiltrate into the Kashmir Valley.
