January 3

Two persons are killed and six others sustain injuries in an ambush by unidentified terrorists on an Assam Rifles convoy at Thoubal bazaar in the Thoubal district.

January 10

Six Manipur Rifles personnel are killed and four others injured as unidentified terrorists ambush the escort party of Communist Party of India (CPI) leader N. Mangi Singh at Kha Thinungei in Bishenpur district.

March 31

Four persons, including a Kuki Defence Force (KDF) terrorist, are killed and six others arrested by security forces during an encounter in Churachandpur district.

April 24

Four persons are killed by unidentified terrorist in two separate incidents at Kongba and Kongpal in the Imphal East district.

April 30

Eight Manipur Rifles personnel and a civilian are killed and 16 persons are injured as Kuki National Front (KNF) terrorists ambush a security party escorting passenger buses at Saparmaina on the National Highway-39, thirty-five kilometres from capital Imphal.

Four Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) terrorists, including its ‘commander-in-chief’ Tombi Singh, are killed during an encounter at Phunan Maring village in Thoubal district.

June 12

One security force personnel is killed and six others are injured as United National Liberation Front (UNLF) terrorists attack their post at Kongbon Tngkhul village in Senapati district.

Nine KNF terrorists, including a woman cadre, are killed at Thinganagphai Kuki village in Churachandpur district during a raid by the security forces.

July 28

Four security force personnel are killed and 13 others sustain injuries during an ambush by unidentified terrorists at Moldangpok, 19 kms from the State capital Imphal.

Kuki terrorists kill ten Nagas in a raid on the Thedram village in Senapati district.

November 27

Kuki militants kill seven Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA) cadres at Paichan village in Churachandpur district.

December 10
