Seminar on
"Hurdles to Resolving Conflict in Assam",
May 1, 2002, Guwahati.
The seminar was held with the objective of assessing
the factors that have long been proving to be impediments in the resolution
of the problem of terrorism in Assam, including forces that catalysed
the rise and persistence of militancy. The seminar aimed at seeking
the opinion of intellectuals regarding the survival dynamics of terrorism,
and to identify the range of possible solutions. The participants included
professionals based in Assam and also people who served the State in
different capacities.

The seminar was inaugurated by Mr. Pradyut Bordoloi,
Minister of State for Home, Government of Assam. Three research papers
were presented during the course of the seminar.
