Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadre, identified as Dilip Motiram Pendam (34), carrying a INR 150, 000 bounty on his head, was arrested in the Bhamragad region while suspiciously wandering among villages and woodlands in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on April 23, reports mid-day.com. Pendam is suspected of several crimes, including laying a fatal claymore mine and two pressure cooker bombs in Nelgunda-Gongwada and Laheri in March 2023, to attack Security Forces (SFs) personnel and steal their guns and ammunitions. Pendam is also accused of assisting other hardline Maoist factions in the region by organising logistics and ration supplies, as well as distributing propaganda literature to the local population.

Three terrorists were killed by Security Forces (SF) in an intelligence-based operation in Pishin District of Balochistan on April 23, reports Dawn. A press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the operation took place last night on the reported presence of terrorists in the area. “During the conduct of [the] operation, after intense fire exchange, three terrorists were sent to hell, while one terrorist was apprehended in injured condition, who has been identified as an Afghan national,” the ISPR said. It added that a large cache of arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered during the operation.
At least two people of Punjabi ethnicity were killed by unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle in the Dannuk area on the outskirts of Turbat town in Kech District of Balochistan on April 23, reports The Balochistan Post. According to the Police, the deceased did not have an identity card, mobile phone, or any other means of identification. The Islamabad Police has established a Special Protection Unit for the security of Chinese nationals, The Khorasan Diary reported on April 23. 50 more Policemen were deployed in this Special Protection Unit. A total of 140 personnel will work in this unit, said Police.

Shahin Baloch claimed that after seizing all resources of Balochistan, the rulers in Islamabad are callously enriching themselves while Balochistan languishes in poverty. However, the aid intended for the flood victims has yet to reach them, neither from Islamabad nor from the provincial authorities, TTP leader said.
