A leader of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F), Sardarzada Mir Zahid Khan Lehri, was shot dead in Ghazi village in Kachhi District of Balochistan on January 4, reports Dawn. Sardarzada Mir Zahid Khan Lehri was on a visit to his agricultural land near Ghazi village when unidentified assailants opened fire on him. Zahid Lehri and his guard were injured. On January 8, three people were killed and three others were injured when unidentified assailants opened fire at their convoy at the Loni Road area in Sibi city of Sibi District, reports The Nation. The convoy also included Nawabzada Baru Khan Barozai, brother of Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Barozai, the ex-interim Chief Minister of Balochistan who sustained injuries. Six terrorists of Islamic State (IS) including Asghar Samalani were killed during exchange of fire at Eastern Bypass area of Quetta of Balochistan, reports Ary News on January 9. The terrorists initially lobbed grenades and fired at Security Forces (SF) when asked to surrender. In retaliation, six terrorists were killed. Security Forces (SFs) allegedly arrested and forcibly disappeared a man from Mand town of Kech District, reports The Balochistan Post. The missing person was identified as Usman, the son of Liaqat, a resident of Koh-Pusht area of Mand town. According to Usman’s family, the missing man was taken into custody by the SFs. 10 Army soldiers were killed after terrorists attacked a security forces’ check post in Kech District of Balochistan Province in the intervening night of January 25-26, reports Daily Times. A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said “During intense exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed and several injured. Two brothers who had been kidnapped from the Daznab area of Panjgur District of Balochistan Province were found shot dead on January 26 in the Panchi Kalg area of the District, reports Dawn. Police said that the deceased Mohammad Sameer and Mohammad Zameer were shot at close range. Police said that on January 25 evening armed men barged into their house and abducted the two brothers and when another man offered resistance, they opened fire and killed him on the spot. According to officials at the Levies Control Room, the victims were passing by when their vehicle drove over a landmine.
