One Army soldier was killed and five other personnel were injured when the firing stopped and injuries and fatalities were consolidated on May 15 in cross-border firing attack along Pak-Afghan border on a checkpoints in the Teri Mangal area of Kurram District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since May 14, reports The Khorasan Diary. Earlier, it was reported that at least 12 militants were killed and four Security Forces (SF) personnel sustained injuries during a cross-border infiltration firing.
One militant was killed in a shootout with Security Forces (SFs) during a search operation in Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on May 15, reports The Khorasan Diary. His identity has not yet been ascertained, however; he was killed in the jungle between Rori and Luni villages.
Four people were injured when unidentified attackers stormed the house of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM)’s leader Nazeer Afghani in Dera Ismail Khan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on May 15, reports The Khorasan Diary. Nazeer Afghani along with his brother and nephew survived the attack. Heavy ammunition was used in the attack. The attackers managed to escape after the attack. The property was damaged.
The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) on May 15 defused an improvised explosive device (IED) planted near the Pak-Afghan highway in Khyber District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reports The Khorasan Diary. Almost seven kilograms of explosives were planted on the roadside. The crossing has been opened after defusing the bomb, said District Police Officer.
The District Police office in North Waziristan was shut down on May 14 owing to the demands of the Police Force in the District, reports The Khorasan Diary. The Police Stations in South Waziristan District were also shut down. There is a protest underway by the Police Force in Khyber and Orakzai Districts as well.
