Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested seven militants with huge arms and ammunition in different overnight raids in Lalmonirhat District of Rangpur Division on October 31, reports New Age.
A special operational team of RAB raided a tin-shed room in village Mushrat Modati of Lalmonirhat and arrested five Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) operatives on October 31. The arrested were identified as regional coordinator of ABT Hasan Ali alias Lal, 38, its central Shura member Asmat Ali alias Laltu, 27, members of its extremist wing Shafiul Islam Saddam, 28, Abu Nayeem Mister, 19, and Ali Hossain, 25. The elite force also recovered two foreign pistols, two magazines, four bullets, explosives and devices for making bombs, books and leaflets propagating extremism and four mobile phones from them.
In an identical raid, the RAB arrested two Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) operatives in a roadside area in village Rasulganj Sahebdanga of Lalmonirhat in possession of books and leaflets propagating extremism on October 31. The arrested JMB operatives were identified as Tamizul Islam, 39, and Sunnai Islam Sunna, 21.
