Two children were injured in a remote control improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Panwal village of Jiwani in Gwadar District of Balochistan on May 10, reports Dawn. Levies officials said that unknown miscreants planted an IED, which detonated, injuring two children who were playing in the area. The victims were identified as Abu Baqar and Arman. “We have also recovered an unexploded IED that was planted in the area,” said a Levies officer.
Unidentified assailants blocked the M-8 highway of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in the Jusak area of Turbat in Kech District of Balochistan and set fire to several trailers headed to Punjab on May 10, reports The Balochistan Post. The trailers, traveling from Gwadar to Punjab, were intercepted by the assailants who stopped the vehicles for inspection before setting them on fire. Following the incident, the assailants issued warnings and released the drivers unharmed. While no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, it is important to note that Baloch groups have a known presence in the area. Similar attacks in Balochistan have previously been attributed to these groups.
Security Forces (SFs) allegedly enforced disappeared a Baloch man, identified as Hussain, son of Haji Khalid Hussain, in Panjgur District of Balochistan May 9, reports The Balochistan Post. The victim Hussain is employed at a bank. Today, as he reached his home, SF raided his house and whisked him away.
