Colonel Sultan, a military commander in the north of the country said the Taliban insurgents are not able to fight the security forces, adding they are “using the people’s home as the shelter.” The officials have also said that the “operations are moving slowly as the insurgents are placing roadside mines in the areas and also to prevent civilian casualties.” The officials added that after the forces clear the three Districts, the operation will launch in Khwaja Ghar District of the province. However, the security forces have not provided further details about the operation and casualties of SFs during the operations.

The operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Kunar, Parwan, Ghazni, Logar, Kandahar, Zabul, Urozgan, Farah, Faryab, Nimroz and Helmand Provinces. 14 planned mopping-up operations, 60 special operations and 45 air strikes were carried out by ANDSF in these provinces. Four local commanders were identified as Amin, Rahmatullah, Nazir and Mullah Edriss and were killed during a military operation in Khas Urozgan District of Uruzgan Province.

Some offensives that they have carried out have been above the Taliban’s (usual) capacity in terms of tactics, movements and functioning”, reports Tolo News.
