In another room, explosive powder and other materials used to make the crude bomb were lying. One person died and two others were injured in a grenade blast at a tea garden manager’s office in Dalgaon area in Darrang District on September 13, reports The Telegraph. Police said the grenade was thrown at the Borgarah tea garden manager’s office. Kamal Chand Jain, who was present in the office, died while he was being brought to Guwahati. The manager Rakesh Kureshia and assistant manager Ramakant Tiwari injured in the incident. Four persons on two bikes entered the garden from the northern side and threw the grenade at the garden manager's office where the three persons were sitting. Police said that militants of the IK Songbijit faction of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB-IKS) are believed to be behind the incident.

The IED was planted by the Independent faction of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA-I). One Army vehicle was also damaged in the blast. A grenade and another IED kept in a tiffin box were recovered by the Army personnel at a distance of 200 meter from the blast site. According to sources, militants triggered two grenade blasts near Gossaigaon town Chariali and near a cinema hall in the heart of Gossaigaon town. Two more blasts took place near a petrol pump at Patgaon under Serfanguri Police Station in which three people were injured. The injured were identified as Man Bahadur, Purnima Rai and Chatra Maya. Later militants lobbed another two grenades at Samarpur on National Highway (NH)-31 under Kokrajhar Police Station.
