There were conflicting reports on the figure, with some reporting that ten UPLA cadres arrested along with arms and ammunition. It was believed that Assam Police may have arrested another person based on information in their jurisdiction. According to Assam Police, UPLA’s ‘foreign secretary’ Bali Rongphar was also arrested. UPLA letter pads and money receipts were recovered from the militants. Based on information from the arrested militants in Nagaland, the Assam Police recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition from a hideout near Baithalangso town, Hamren. Miscreants torched about 200 houses following which over ten thousand people fled their houses to take shelter in ten relief camps in Uriamghat area of the District. When the AR troops identified and raided the house, two unidentified individuals were found chained and locked in a small room. The troopers arrested six persons who later confessed that they were militant of Isak-Muivah faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-IM) and were using the house as a base for carrying out illegal activities in the area, including extortions, abductions, kidnappings and illegal confinements. Various incriminating documents were also recovered from the house. Khole Kitovi faction of NSCN (NSCN-KK) gave a 'political class' to its regional authorities on September 12 at Khehoyi Designated Camp (Dimapur District) wherein the members were briefed on the prevailing Indo-Naga political situation, reports Nagaland Post. AR also arrested two ULFA-I militants and also arrested an individual identified as Senti Longchar, owner of the house from which huge quantity of ammunition and explosive materials were recovered. AR recovered one Assault Rifle (K-10), one .303 rifle, one Pistol, large quantity of material for making Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), two hand grenades, two bombs and over 300 rounds of assorted ammunition. The arrested militants disclosed that ULFA-I was planning to target populated areas in Assam. The Sentinel further adds that ULFA-I militants were trained in explosive handling and that Prakash Bora is believed to be a kingpin of ULFA and was responsible for subversive activities in Jorhat, Golaghat and Sivsagar areas of Assam.

Security Force (SF) personnel seized a cache of arms and ammunition from a couple near Kolia Bhomora bridge in Sonitpur District in the evening of December 15, reports The Telegraph. Sonitpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjukta Parashar said a couple, identified as Jolen Narzary, 44, and his wife Belsree Nazary alias Kareng, 40, were carrying the arms on a bike and were arrested at a checkpoint near the bridge. The recoveries included a HK-33 rifle, an M39 grenade launcher along with 80 rounds of ammunition, 16 grenade shells and 17 SIM cards. Police suspect the arms were meant for I. K. Sonobjit factions of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB-IKS) and the couple was bringing it from Nagaland. According to a police source, the NDFB-IKS as well as other militant organisations are suspected to be supplying arms from Nagaland via Dimapur to a militant group in Arunachal Pradesh bordering Sonitpur District in Assam.
