Pakistani troops violated the Cease Fire Agreement (CFA) in Gurez sector in Bandipora District and Tangdhar sector in Kupwara Districts of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on February 2, reports Daily Excelsior. An official said that Pakistani troops in the morning of February 2, violated CFA in Gurez sector of the Bandipora District injuring Sandeep Yadav, an Army personnel posted at Pant Post of Bagtore area of Gurez. Pakistani troops also violated CFA in Tangdhar sector in Kupwara District of J&K. The official said that Pakistani troops manning Papa-1 post fired with small arms towards Indian post Vayou where 39 Gorkha Rifles(GR) of Army is posted. Pakistan violated the Cease Fire Agreement (CFA) when it resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) late on February 22, reports Daily Excelsior. According to Official sources, Pakistan resorted to firing with automatic weapons, targeting forward posts and civilian areas on this side of LoC in Keran and Tanghdar sectors in Kupwara late Saturday (February 22) evening. However, Indian troops retaliated and the exchange of fire continued from 1600 hours to 2350 hours. The sources further said that Pakistani troops were resorting to firing to help militants to sneak into this side. However, they said troops were on high alert to foil any infiltration bid from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK), where a huge number of trained militants are waiting in launching pads to sneak into this side.

The Indian Army, on April 10, inflicted heavy damage on gun positions and ammunition dumps of Pakistani troops and militant launch pads in Neelam valleyin Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), after Pakistan resorted to unprovoked CeaseFire Agreement (CFA) violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in two areas of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports India Today.A defence spokesperson said the Indian Army retaliated "effectively and strongly" to the ceasefire violation in Keran sector in Kupwara District this afternoon (April 10), with precision targeting of gun areas, terrorist launchpads and ammunition dump across the LoC."(There are) reports of heavy damage on the enemy side," he added. Police officials said Pakistan violated the ceasefire in Uri area in Baramulla District of J&K as well. However, there were no reports of any casualties in the CFA violation incident.

Three persons including a child and a woman were killed and seven others injured and several houses were damaged in heavy shelling by Pakistan violating CeaseFire Agreement (CFA) along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector in Kupwara District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on April 12, reports Daily Excelsior. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Vijay Kumar,said, three persons were killed in artillery shelling from Pakistan in Reddi Chowkibal and Tumna villages.The dead have been identified as Shamima Begum (37), originally a resident of Allahabad, wife of Gulzar Ahmad Hajam, Ahmad Khan (17) son of late Ghulam Rasool Khan, both residents of Reddi Chowkibal and Zeeshan Bashir (8) son of Bashir Ahmad Khatana of Tumna. The seven civilians including two siblings who were injured in the shelling, have been identified as Ghulam Hassan Pir (60), of Reddi who has been hit in his left arm, Farooq Ahmad Kataria, Bashir Ahmad Kataria, Lal Din Chichee, Saima (12), and Sabiya, daughters of Siraj-ud-Din Badana and Imtiyaz Ahmad Khatria (16), all residents of Tumna.

The four Army soldiers who were injured have been identified as Naib Subedar Ishar Das, Rifleman Gorie Singh, HC Danash all from 8 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry and Sepoy Sandeep Singh of 15 Sikh Light Infantry. Pakistani troops also fired artillery rounds causing huge explosions which could be heard from a distance causing panic among the residents in Macchil and Keran sectors. Some residents who were in the firing range moved to safer places, however, Indian troops gave befitting reply and also fired artillery rounds, used mortars and heavy machine guns.

In Uri sector in Baramulla District, four civilians including a 7-year-old boy and two Army soldiers were killed as India and Pakistan armies traded heavy fire. Six civilians were also injured in the heavy mortar shelling and firing. The civilians killed in the shelling have been identified as Afrar Ahmad (7), son of Latief Ahmad of Gohallan Uri, Irshad Ahmad (48) of Sarai Baday, Tahir Ahmad Mir (36) of Sultan Daki and Farooqa Begum (36), wife of Bashir Ahmad of Balakote.
