A separate report in The Hindu indicated that in the Visakhapatnam district, PWG Naxalites have given a warning to the polling staff of serious consequences if re-poll was held at Palakajeedi village in the Chintapalli-State Assembly constituency. The officials were later released, according to police sources. In another election-related incident, The Hindu has reported that in an attempt to ambush a police party, PWG cadres triggered five landmines between Golepalli and Lingala villages in the Warangal district. However, no loss of life or injuries was reported. Separately, suspected PWG extremists blasted a culvert at Muvvada village in the Adilabad district targeting police personnel who, however, escaped unhurt.

According to The Hindu, four police personnel belonging to the Grey Hounds division were injured in a landmine blast triggered by left-wing extremists (also known as Naxalites) of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in G.K. Veedhi revenue division of Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam district on December 15. The incident occurred when a party of 15 Grey Hound personnel was passing by the villages of Kannavaram and Yerracheruvulu. Another media report said that, on the same day, the Naxalites also attacked the Indian Navy helicopter carrying the four injured Grey Hound personnel. The report added that the Naxalites had detonated six landmines.
