Maoists and activists of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) clashed with each other on February 24 in the Rupandehi and Nepalgunj districts, according to Nepal News. A day after they clashed with each other in Bhairahawa, MJF cadres set two buses ablaze in the Marchawar region of Rupandehi district. The buses were reportedly being used by the Maoists to ferry their workers and supporters to Butwal where chairman Prachanda is scheduled to address a mass gathering on February 25, today. In Nepalgunj, Maoists activists reportedly vandalised the venue where a programme was being organised by the MJF. In the ensuing clashes, an unspecified number of people were wounded.

At least 27 persons, including five women, were killed and over 40 persons were injured at Gaur in the Rautahat district on March 21 when Maoists and Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) activists clashed with each other, Nepal News reports. 12 dead bodies were found at the major clash site at the Rice Mills ground in Gaur while 15 more bodies were discovered in the nearby Hajmaniya and Mudhbaliya Village Development Committees (VDCs) - four kilometres away from Gaur city. The incident occurred after 1 pm at the Rice Mills ground in Gaur where both the Madhesi Mukti Morcha (MMM) affiliated with the Maoists and MJF had planned to hold their separate mass meetings. Unconfirmed reports say that Jwala Singh faction of Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM) has owned up responsibility for the shootout.

Over 12 persons were injured in the Sindhupalchowk district on July 15 when the Maoist-affiliated Young Communist league (YCL) cadres who came to resolve a dispute between two local groups started assaulting them, according to Himalayan Times. Two local groups had quarrelled over the construction of a road that was supposed to connect Baguwa to Bangaon of Shikharpur Village Development Committee-6 (VDC) area. As neither side was willing to compromise, the YCL cadres attacked both the groups. In the united retaliation of both the local groups, three YCL cadres were injured. Most of the injured are cadres of the Nepali Congress and Rastriya Prajatantra Party, sources added.

Ganga Yadav died after sustaining bullet injuries during ‘exchange of fire’ with JTMM-Goit cadres, reports said. The Maoists protested against the local administration as it filed a public offence case against Maoist area no-2 in-charge and district committee member Bishal Khadka on the charge of tarring the face of a former District Development committee president Sundar Prakash Khadka. They vandalised the District Administration Office (DAO) and assaulted Chief District Officer Uddhav Bahadur Thapa. The Maoists, breaking the security, entered the DAO and took out Thapa from his office. They forced him to apologise for filing a case against Khadka. Seven persons, including a civilian, were injured when both groups of workers clashed at the Pokhara Noodles Private Ltd in Kaski district on October 6 (today). The pro-CPN-UML Nepal Free Food and Beverages Workers' Union and the pro-Maoist Nepal Industrial Workers' Union accused each other of starting the clash. Similarly, 10 persons were injured in a clash between the same two groups of workers in the Bhrukuti Pulp and Paper Mill at Gaindakot in Chitwan district.
