Three children, aged between 5 to 15 years, were killed in a landmine blast in Khajoori Zakir Khel village of Mir Ali tehsil (revenue unit) in North Waziristan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on January 4, reports ARY News. The children were shepherds who were grazing their cattle in the fields near Khajoori checkpost when the explosion took place.
Security Forces (SFs) on January 5 (today) shot dead two terrorists, including one ‘high value terrorist’ during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Tank District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), reports ARY News. During an intense exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, adding that weapons and ammunition were recovered from their possession. The ISPR said Gul Yousaf, one of the killed terrorists, was wanted in many heinous crimes and PKR 2.5 million was fixed on his head by the Government.

Police averted a militant attack on a Police post in Shahtora Takhtikhel area of Naurang town in Lakki Marwat District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the night of January 2, reports Dawn. A Police official said that the personnel deployed at the post opened fire when they noticed the movements of suspected militants through night vision goggles. After the firing from Police, the militants fled from the area.
