On November 8, two militant, two Pakistani Army were killed during an infiltration bid at Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. Pakistan Army violated Ceasefire Agreement (CFA) in the sector in an attempt to push in infiltrators. Army Sources said, Pakistan army fired mortar bombs and used automatic weapons to target forward posts of the Indian Army in Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch in a bid to push the militants into Indian territory from the Line of Control (LoC). During shelling and firing, at least four militants wearing combat dresses tried to intrude into the Indian side. The militants, reportedly Fidayeens (suicide squad), belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). Weapons and explosives were also lying alongside the slain militants. Besides the two militants, two Pakistan army personnel were also killed in retaliatory shelling and firing by the Indian troops. An Indian Army soldier was martyred in Pakistan army’s firing and shelling while thwarting the infiltration attempt by the militants, aided and abetted from across the LoC. South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) had earlier reported that personnel and an Indian Army trooper was killed in an incident of Cease Fire Violation (CFV). The Army trooper was identified as Sepoy Rahul Bhairu (21), of Uchagaon village under Belgaum tehsil (revenue unit) in Belgaum (Belagavi) District in Karnataka.
Pakistan Army has repeatedly been violating ceasefire on the LoC in Rajouri and Poonch Districts since August 5. Additionally, The New Indian Express adds that Army was searching for the infiltrators who had crossed into India on November 7. According to Army sources, there were two instances of Cease Fire Violation (CFV) since November 7.
Separately, on November 8, one more civilian, succumbed to his injuries he had sustained in the grenade attack in Srinagar on November 4, reports Daily Excelsior. The civilian was identified as Fayaz Ahmed Khan. SATP had reported earlier that one person was killed and at least 45 others, including 10 women and three Security Force (SF) personnel, were injured in a grenade blast at a market place in Hari Singh High Street near city Centre Lal Chowk in Srinagar city (Srinagar District) in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on November 4.
