On February 16, while participating in the 6th Regional Dialogue of Secretaries of Security Councils/National Security Advisers (NSA) on Afghanistan held in Bishkek, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan, India’s Deputy National Security Adviser, Vikram Misri, stated that India remains a key stakeholder in Afghanistan, urging the Taliban regime that its territory should not be used for training and sheltering terrorists, including those belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), reports News18.com. He further stated that India does not recognize the Taliban in Afghanistan and is represented by a technical team, including some senior officers from the Ministry of External Affairs, which engages in conversations with the regime.
