A cadre of the Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), was arrested from his residence at Bachra village in Hazaribagh District of Jharkhand, reports The Week on December 5. Superintendent of Police (SP), Karthick S said, a raid was conducted in the forests of Katkumsandi, following which Jitendra Kumar Bhokta was arrested on December 4 night, but his accomplices managed to flee. Police has seized one country-made pistol, two live cartridges and a stolen two-wheeler from his residence.
A huge cache of arms and ammunition have been recovered from a hideout of the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), in Palamu District of Jharkhand on December 3, reports Swarajya. In a joint operation in Salmadiri village by the Jharkhand Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in wee hours on Thursday (December 3), the team recovered arms and ammunition after a brief gun battle with the rebels. An AK-56 assault rifle, a pistol and a few Aadhar cards were also recovered from the encounter site.
The Jharkhand Police, on December 4, announced rewards ranging from INR 200,000 to INR 1 million on seven cadres of the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), reports daijiworld.com. A statement by Police headquarters also released the photographs of these PLFI cadres wanted in Ranchi, Khuti, Gumla, Simdega, and Chaibasa (West Singhbhum) Districts, including PLFI ‘chief’ Dinesh Gope. Other rebels on whom rewards were announced are Jidan Gudiya and Tilkeshwar Gope (INR 1 million each), Awadhesh Kumar Jaiswal alias Abodh Kumar Jaiswal alias Chua, Ajay Purty, Shanischaran Purty, and Mangra Lugun (INR 200,000 each). Police also issued mobile numbers of Police officials whom one could contact for information on these rebels or their properties.
