A Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) banner, opposing the construction of a dam over the Jhanjhavati River near Chintaguda village, was spotted at the Narayanpatna region in Koraput District of Odisha on August 22, reports odishabytes.com. The banner put up by the Srikakulam committee division of the banned outfit read, "River, forest, and land are for the tribals. We will not tolerate the government’s interference in their lives. No work will be allowed here." While the poster has created panic among people in the region, the Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel have launched a combing operation in the area, Koraput Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhinav Sonkar informed.
