The Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) South Bastar Divisional Committee (DVC) ‘action team’ member, Vetti Bhima, surrendered to Bhadrachalam Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 141 Bn officials at Bhadrachalam in Bhadradri Kothagudem District of Telangana on November 7, reports Telangana Today. Bhima joined the Maoist Party in 2012 and worked as a Gollapalli Local Organising Squad (LOS) member till 2016, and later on in ‘Janatana Sarkar’ (Peoples Government of the CPI-Maoist), from 2017 to 2018; from 2018 to 2019 in Kistaram Local Guerilla Squad (LGS); and from 2020 in South Bastar DVC. He took part in many Maoist operations. He was vexed by the outdated Maoist ideology and their suppressive approach towards adivasis. Following the counseling provided by the Police and CRPF to the family members of the Maoists, he decided to surrender and live a normal life.
