Security Forces (SFs) killed Joga, ‘deputy commander’ of People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA), the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) armed wing, Platoon No 26, in an encounter in Bastar District of Chhattisgarh on June 30, reports news18.com. Acting on a specific intelligence input about movement of Maoist cadres of Katekalyan and Kanger Ghati ‘area committees’ in Elangnar area under Darbha Police Station limits in Bastar District, a joint search operation was launched by Bastar District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troops. Later, an encounter took place between the SFs and the Maoists in which Joga was killed. The SFs recovered one pistol, one .303 rifle, a wireless set, a large quantity of daily use items and Maoist’s literature, along with the body of Joga, from the encounter site.
