Unidentified gunmen killed a National Directorate of Security (NDS), Afghanistan’s intelligence agency, officer in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital, of Nangarhar Province on January 11, reports Bakhtar News. No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the assassination, but senior Afghan Government officials have blamed the Taliban for increasing terrorist attacks, including targeted assassinations.
