Alice Wells, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs stated that no evidence exists to confirm that India is using Afghan soil against Pakistan, reports Khaama Press on May 1. Responding to a question regarding the alleged use of the Afghan soil by India against Pakistan during an interaction with a group of journalists at the United States (US) Embassy in Islamabad, Wells said “I don’t have the evidence what you’re referring to, but our policy is clear that no country should support non-state actors.” She also added that U.S. had no information regarding Pakistan Army’s latest allegations that Afghan and Indian secret agencies were funding the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM).
