Matiyas alias Mangra Tuti (25), a supporter of the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), a splinter group of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), was shot dead allegedly by its activists (cadres) in a weekly market in Gundri village under Anandpur Police Station limits in West Singhbhum District of Jharkhand on March 18, reports The Week. Mangra Tuti was released from jail a couple of months ago, West Singhbhum Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashutosh Sekhar said, adding that all together, eight criminal cases were registered against him in the district. Matiyas, a resident of the Gudri Police Station limit of the district, came to the Haat (weekly market) in Gundri village when he was shot dead over a money-related dispute, the SP added.
