A Police constable was shot dead by suspected cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in Marikodri village under Mardoom Police Station limits in Bastar District of Chhattisgarh on November 10 (today), reports latestly.com. Constable Nevru Benjam, posted at Rekha Ghati police camp in the same area, had gone to the village along with his family to attend a social function, a Police official said, adding, some unidentified persons fired at him when he was at the function venue. The constable died on the spot. “Prima facie, the incident seems to be the handiwork of Maoists, but an investigation is underway into it,” he said.
Separately, three Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres identified as Kadti Durga (27), Madvi Deva (34) and Vetti Soma (40), were arrested from the forests f Gachchanpalli village in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh on November 8, reports The Pioneer. The Police recovered a tiffin bomb, eight electric detonators and electric wires from their possession. Sukma Superintendent of Police (SP), Sunil Sharma said, the three were involved in firing at security personnel on September 29.
