An exchange of fire took place between Security Forces (SFs) and Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres on September 14 during a combing operation on Koraput-Malkangiri border near Kumikhari and Badli Pahad reserve forest area under Boipariguda Police limits in Koraput District of Odisha, reports ommcomnews.com. SFs have seized arms, ammunition, medicines, and Maoist literature from the spot. Based on specific intelligence about the movement of armed Maoist cadres for carrying out anti-national and subversive activities, an operation involving teams of Special Operation Group (SOG), District Voluntary Force (DVF) of Odisha Police, and Border Security Force (BSF) had been launched in Maithili Police Station of Malkangiri District and Boipariguda Police Station of Koraput District. While this operation was going on, the exchange of fire took place near Kumikhari and Badli Pahad reserve forest area, and the Maoist cadres managed to escape from the spot, following which arms, ammunition, and other articles have been recovered during the operation. Arms, ammunition include, one .303 Rifle, one .303 Magazine, six rounds of .303 Ball Ammunitions, four Detonators, two Chargers (Walky-Talky), two Remote Controls, four Maoist Shirts, one AK-47 Ceiling, one Welding machine, eleven Kit Bags, one Maoist Banner, one Maoist Belt, one Knife, Maoists literature, medicines & other articles.
